The Apotheosis of St. Louis and the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum on the front of the badge represent the city’s rich history and those who served the country.
The cover of the program displays the plaque commemorating The American Legion’s St. Louis Caucus in May 1919.
The 1956 badge and program display the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, a memorial to World War I veterans.
About 200,000 spectators watched 30,000 Legionnaires march through the Coliseum during the annual, six-hour National Convention parade. The Coliseum also served as the location for other spectacles and events throughout the convention.
