Introduction

The American Legion’s annual National Convention brings attendees together for special events, celebrations, parades, and official business meetings. This event, first held in 1919, includes not only American Legion delegates and members, but distinguished guests and dignitaries from around the world. The American Legion creates a unique commemorative badge each year specific to the convention and its geographic location. This exhibit includes badges from every American Legion National Convention, honoring those who serve the nation, reflecting the broader issues of the times and representing the American Legion’s motto: “Veterans Strengthening America.”
