Description
Poster showing a woman, a passenger from the Lusitania, submerged in water cradling an infant in her arms. 128 of the 1,198 people who died when the Lusitania was sunk by a German U-boat in 1,915 were Americans, and many were civilian men, women, and children. Images about the sinking and the Germans attack on a civilian ship were widely used by the allies for propaganda.
