From attached caption: "Applying the pressure - This photograph shows part of the highly geared lobby machinery of The American Legion in its Washington office. About 11,000 department commanders of the Legion receive orders over this wire service and carry the message and instructions of the Naitonal Commander to the thousands of members. Rosalie Rose is seated at the teletype. John Russell, left, is Washington correspondent for the National News Service. Next to him is Robert L. Tolson, assistant rehabilitation chairman. On the right in the back is Paul Griffith, assistant National Comptroller. 5-13-1935."
