Legionnaires off to observe the Battle of Britain: The members of The American Legion mission to embattled England are shown at LaGuardia Field transatlantic air terminal just before they boarded the Yankee Clipper for the first leg of their journey to London this morning. Left to right are Past National Commander Franklin D'Olier ; Major General Frank Parker, U.S. Army (retired), a member of the National Executive Committee of the Legion ; National Commander Milo J. Warner ; and Joseph S. Deutschle, newspaperman and aide to Warner. The Legion mission will make a survey of civilian defense functions in modern warfare. London will be the "laboratory".
