American Legion national officers have proudly served their organization and American veterans throughout its lifetime. The Past National Officers exhibit looks back at those elected throughout the first 100 years of The American Legion from 1919-2019 using digitalized photos and artifacts from the American Legion archives. This exhibit was organized by staff of the Emil A. Blackmore Museum in 2022. Listings that cover the 1999-2019 national officers and national sergeant-at-arms will be coming in future updates.

You can navigate the exhibit using the links on the left or by clicking the navigation arrows at the bottom of the screen within the exhibit.

The map above displays the home state of each national commander upon election at the national convention. Make sure to zoom in to see each pin, as some cities were home to multiple national commanders.
