In early 2020, the original American Legion National Headquarters building at 777 N. Meridian St. reopened as the Indiana Veterans Center, continuing the legacy of the building as a "nucleus of veteran activity."

Renovations completed by the State of Indiana preserved the historic qualities of the building while adding ramps, restrooms on every floor, elevators and other updates that will enable the building to serve all Indiana's veterans for years to come.

777 N. Meridian now houses all divisions of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs and serves as a hub for veteran services in Indiana.

The American Legion National Headquarters still occupies the building at 700 N. Pennsylvania St., the Geiger Operations Center in Lawrence, Ind., and the Washington, D.C. offices on K street.

Staff at each location continue working together serving America's veterans and promoting the mission of the American Legion.
