(from back of photo) Everyone including the Indians turned out when Franklin D'Olier (hands clasped) visited posts as first National Commander in 1920. This visit was to Post 50, Sisseton, South Dakota Legion had no uniform of its own at the time. (magazine caption)
According to a correction received by the Magazine Division from South Dakota, this photo was taken in front of the Elk's club in Watertown, South Dakota during the department's first Department Convention. Sisseton, South Dakota Post 50 brought and proudly displayed their Post Colors.
